Chrome Beta for Android Update

Chrome Beta for Android has been updated to 31.0.1650.60 and will be available in Google Play over the next few hours. This release fixes a number of browser crashes and removes the ability to add an application shortcut. This functionality will return in a future beta.

A partial list of changes in this build is available in the SVN revision log. If you find a new issue, please let us know by filing a bug. More information about Chrome for Android is available on the Chrome site.

When I bought my Android tablet and saw that Chrome was there as well, I was stunned that it didn't support the custom search engines.

It's surely something that tablets are equally capable to do as PCs, isn't it?

Could you please add them?

The "add to homescreen" feature seems to be gone!? Why?

please bring back the 'add to homescreen' feature...

Well, at least I'm not the only one missing the add to homscreen features. Sites already added to the homescreen no longer work, which is also annoying.

There is any way to downgrade the beta version to be able to use the add to home screen function?

It's a Beta so you can do what you want but at least tell us why you've removed the add to home screen functionality?!

I agree the add to home screen feature was nice. If you are looking for a work around until it's added back, use the stable Chrome browser and it through the book marking feature, which will allow you then the option to add the page to the home screen. As for you Google Chrome beta people.. "come on man!"

31 went "stable" straight without bugfixes... Only current tab was fixed.

Critical performance issues weren't fixed.
Giant white spaces on 10 inch tablets weren't fixed as well.

Yeah and excessive CPU usage causing device overheating wasn't fixed as well.

What in the world, why is the new tab button removed again?? It's so useful.
